Initially regarded as a vandal, Bulgarian painter Stanislav Trifonov (aka Nasimo) has over the years transformed a wide array of public spaces into must-see pieces of art. He had since earned a title of master worthy of being studied in Bulgaria’s Academic Art books.
Nasimo’s career started in the 90s with graffiti spraying. It was then he formed the Los Bastardos Crew which was one of the first and most active street art groups in the Balkans.
In 2000 he established another crew and advanced a new kind of
street art which merged traditional motifs and modern graffiti style. Nasimo’s work has evolved from wall and train aerosol spraying into murals and oil paint on canvas. His works reached far beyond
Bulgaria, stretching its presence from the UK to India and China.
Nasimo’s art can be seen all over Bulgaria, with many murals adorning huge communist blocks. His ideas convert the ‘brutalist’ look of communist architecture into a super contemporary and creative sights.
With his last project, he thrived once more – turning the looks of an
old BDZ (Bulgaria’s Railway Network) wagon into an ultra-dynamic chef-d’oeuvre.
Urban Wilderness absolutely admires all Nasimo’s work, whether on canvas or on massive walls.
